What is an multi city search?

checkfelix.com also offers a multi city or open jaw search, which enables the search for complex flights comprising up to four various legs.
For example, you select the route Vienna-London, London-New York and Miami-Vienna.
Instead of having to carry out several searches for each individual leg, this can now be done with only one flight search.

What does the "nearby airports" function achieve?

When making a flight search, you would normally enter one departure and one arrival airport.
However, in many cases, it is often possible to depart from/arrive at several airports in the same area.
The "nearby airports" function further simplifies the search. You are then shown results not only for Vienna, for example, but also for Bratislava or, instead of launching a search for each of several airports, you only need to search once!
This function is also important in the search for prices of low-cost carriers. Ryanair flies from Bratislava to London, for example. Hence, the search Vienna-London can also include Bratislava so that the flights of the low-cost carriers are also included in the search.
It is possible to select up to four different airports within the vicinity of the main airport.
On the results page, it is also possible to use the filter function to search and sort the flight results list according to the various airports.

What is a flexible date search?

The flexible search finds the lowest-price flights within the space of up to one week. This means that one search can find up to 49 different flight combinations, also saving a considerable amount of time.
If, for example, you select 16 July as the departure date, yet you could basically fly earlier or later than this date, you can select a flexible departure date of up to +/- 3 days. Since airfares can also depend on the date, leaving a day earlier or later can also save you money.

Are there special airfares for children and babies?

The checkfelix flight search supports the search for special tariffs for children and babies, and issues the corresponding prices.
Basically, children’s tariffs are awarded to children up to 11 years of age. Usually, a child is considered a “baby” until it is two years of age. In this case, no charge normally applies. However, babies generally have to fly sitting on their parents’ laps.
However, these rules depend on the relevant airline.

How up-to-date are the offers found by checkfelix?

All flights found by checkfelix are available at the displayed price the minute the search inquiry starts. Hence, we recommend a minimum time lapse between searching and booking.

How come there are different prices for one and the same flight?

The pricing of tickets is an extremely complicated affair. The basic price of the ticket, for example, can change within a matter of minutes (e.g. depending on how full the flight is). This is why the ticket could be more expensive from the airline itself and cheaper from an online travel agency, and vice versa. However, price differences are also the result of various service and processing fees. And, last but not least: you can even use exchange rates to your advantage. This is the reason why checkfelix also runs searches on foreign providers.

What does it mean if the results page shows two prices for one flight?

The large, bold-type price is the converted price in the currency you requested (standard currency is the euro). The small price is the amount in the original currency directly from the provider (i.e. US dollar, for example).

Are the prices shown inclusive prices?

Checkfelix inquires into the prices for the cheapest flight ticket (usually an e-ticket) of the relevant class, including all fees (as would be visible on the provider’s website). If you wish to have a paper ticket sent to your postal address, the ticket is correspondingly more expensive. Please note the booking tips on the "details" page with respect to this.

Why are the displayed prices sometimes not the same?

No doubt about it: it can be very annoying for a search to come up with one price which however changes when it comes to making the booking – or if the flight is no longer available.
Naturally, it would be great to be able to say that this never happens. But, unfortunately, it does sometimes!
Since, in the online travel industry, prices and availability can change from minute to minute, it is possible that a price just quoted is no longer available when it comes to making the booking and, hence, cannot be booked, or that the same product is available at a different price. The reason for this is that countless numbers of people access online travel portals at the same time, and make bookings. Hence, we recommend a minimum time lapse between searching and booking. It can also happen that, due to technical problems, the website of our partner sends us incorrect prices. We would like to point out that the intention is not to mislead users. It would be to the advantage of neither the integrated partner nor checkfelix to display incorrect prices, since this would only annoy our users, and show the company in a bad light.
We are aware that such incidences can be frustrating: unfortunately, this problem does not lie within our area of responsibility. Naturally, we always do our utmost to keep the prices as up-to-date as possible. However, should you encounter an error, please let us know, so that we can correct it immediately.

Please note that, for the aforementioned reasons, checkfelix cannot provide any guarantee for prices and availability!

Can I sort the flights found?

Various links are positioned above the list of results. You can sort the flights according to price, provider or number of stop-overs by clicking on to the appropriate link. If a great deal of flights appears in the list of results, it could take several seconds to sort them.

Can I filter the results according to certain criteria?

The filters are located in the left-hand part of the screen, on the results page. The filter makes it possible to search through the results list to find the right product. Filter criteria are stop-overs, airlines, departure times, flight times and price.
This enables hundreds of results to be sorted quickly and easily, in order to arrive at the desired flight.

Why isn’t it showing me any search results?

It sometimes happens that a flight search doesn’t come up with any results. This can be caused by the following reasons:
  1. The selected route isn’t covered by any provider (either for the selected date or in general). In this case, we recommend that you contact our customer service centre to clarify any eventualities.
  2. There is a problem with your browser settings. Please note that, to use checkfelix, JavaScript mustn’t be blocked, and cookies must be enabled. You can make changes to these settings under "settings"” in your browser.

How can I book the desired flight?

checkfelix forwards you directly to the website of the provider. For most providers, it is sufficient to enter your name and credit card number to make the booking. On some pages, you need to re-select the desired flight.

What do you do when the link to make a booking doesn’t work?

A session is started for the flight search of many providers. If too much time lapses between searching and booking, it could happen that this session expires and that the link to the booking becomes "invalid". In this case, we recommend starting the search anew so that you can book the flights without any problems.

Where can I cancel/change my ticket?

checkfelix is purely a search engine. Booking is always made directly with the airline/at the travel agency – i.e. where checkfelix found the flight. Hence, it is only possible to make cancellations/changes directly with the airline/at the travel agency.

What is an Etix©/e-ticket?

checkfelix is purely a search engine. Booking is always made directly with the airline/at the travel agency – i.e. where checkfelix found the flight. Hence, it is only possible to make cancellations/changes directly with the airline/at the travel agency.

Which airlines and online travel agencies are searched by checkfelix?

The extensive contents are the most important point for the operators of the checkfelix.com meta search engine. Hence, checkfelix works with hundreds of travel operators so that it really can scan the prices throughout the entire market, in order to provide the user with an extensive offer.

What is a direct flight?
